Retrofit Measures

SustainableWorks will coordinate the full range of energy saving measures from Air Sealing to Furnaces.  We will recommend undertaking retrofits in the order of the most cost-effective.  Below is a list of typical measures for older homes. 

• Air Sealing – Based on a “blower door test” we will identify air leakage in your home and seal the leaks while assuring proper ventilation.
• Insulation – Ceiling insulation is your best investment and we’ll recommend the right amount and whether floor and wall insulation makes sense.
• Duct Sealing – We’ll seal your ducts to be certain that you don’t waste hot air.
• Home Heating - Furnaces, Boilers and Heat Pumps – Replacing old gas, electric or oil furnaces or baseboard heaters with new high efficiency furnaces and heat pumps is usually a great investment.
• Hot Water Heaters – New water heaters many of which have heat pump and tankless technology.
• Windows – ENERGY STAR rated windows will reduce your heat and cooling bills.
