Retrofit Cuts Energy Consumption by Half                     

SustainableWorks completed an energy retrofit on the Liberty Park United Methodist Church in March 2009. The retrofit took two years to complete due to the difficulty in finding a contractor that could safely work with asbestos. The entire job cost $42,000 and SustainableWorks negotiated an incentive with Avista for $6,000 to help pay for the project. The project included the installation of a new furnace, which resulted in reducing natural gas consumption by half for the month of March. Projections estimate savings between 40%-50%.
